Set Design for "Kumar VS The World"
"Kumar VS The World" (Rated PG-13) "sees one opinionated comedian take on the ills facing society today."
I had been credited as "Set Designer" for "Kumar Vs The World", with the first 4 episodes of the 10-episoder first season currently watchable on MeWatch + Carousel (at time of this blogpost), as well online via YouTube (2 Episodes embedded below), as well listenable via Melisten Podcast.
Produced by the awesome folks at Hoods Inc, each episode of "Kumar VS The World" showcases a collection of segments, including a "host opener", a gameshow and public vox-pops, as well "roundtable" chat with invited guests in the "Dr Kumar" segment.
Featured alongside "proposed set designs" are some select screengrabs, cheers.
WHAT-IS: Fronted by a one-of-a-kind host, comedian and actor,Kumar tackles anything and everything he deems ignorant in the world today. Providing his signature brand of biting humour,Kumar(with his wildly varying guests every week) imparts a “balanced” perspective on topical themes ranging from Racism to Rising Sea Levels, Scams to Sustainability, Animal Abuse to Ageism, and a whole lot more.
Kumar VS The World covers broad CSR themes and human interest stories with a specific and fresh focus. While the treatment is produced on a large scale (to match the ‘Versus the World’ concept), the content is local, relevant and simplified, aiming to connect and engage audiences through humour and insight.
