Transitioning from "Interior Design" to "Set Design for Television"

So how did I transition from "Interior Design" to "(Set) Design for Television"? And while they share similar focus on aesthetics and (visual) textures, they are essentially two different genres.

Simple Answer: I had the opportunity to freelance for "exhibition specialists" during my two & half years of National Service.

I had designed and conceptualised launch stages for fashion/apparel, technology, luxury cars, brand celebrations (note the SIA stage in first image with analog marker colors), and even exhibition design for dedicated themed events = all of which resulted in having a portfolio of “stage designs” to showcase during my interview with SBC/TCS (Singapore Broadcasting Corporation / Television Corporation of Singapore), which probably helped convince the interviewers for awarding me a spot (even though all positions had been filled) in the Variety Design Unit of Production Services!

Also, all designs were based on aesthetics and designed based on the theme set for the stages before-hand during initial brief, all without the need for documentation or any form of construction deliberation, which really helped me open up my mind for this form of design, which I was in turn wholly unfamiliar with, and not apart of the wheelhouse of "Interior Design".

Most of what I know about Design for Television and eventually for feature films, including documentation and project management, had started from my four & half years' tenure at TCS (subsequently), from 1994/5 to 1998.

Check out slideshow images in above-IG embed, as well a few colored stage-concepts. At the end of the day, I actually have no idea if any of these concepts were actually manifested or made into actual stages.
