CLUB PRISCILLA (Production Design for 2004's ROUGE)
SET: "Club Priscilla" for ROUGE (2004)
EPISODE SYNOPSIS: Pending.
Without so many words, I'd wanted to veer this specific set to be a "fetish" club, populated by folks in cosplay, surrounded by brutish bricks, fire engine red stretch pleather, neon yellow text and chains, and plenty of lost "hearts". Not gonna lie, this somewhat satisfied a BDSM-flavoured "curiosity" scratching a side of my brain, maifested here without the overt black and spikes. Throw in a feather boa to soften the vibe, and a fab-blac-necklace to glam up the proceedings, thanks.
This setting was achieved with minor dressing (throw-pillows & taped hearts on doors) plus overt upcycling of furniture, all delibebratly placed to suit the camera, which was ahieveable in the first place due to the constraints of the exisiting space, and knowing the surpaces and spaces I will be seeing, blocked with talent, is a fabulous way to make a more productive set, IMHO. Missed the dramatic entrance piece though, which was a waste, alas.
